I met a friend today on the street. I got mentos from my mentor. I love God. I love this weather. I want to lay outside. I watched the stars the other night. I'm excited and a little apprehensive for youth group. I need to write letters to my sponsored girls. I'm thinking of my friend, Amanda, off on her DTS adventure. :) I had a long lovely evening with my good friend Corinna last night, cooking up a storm. The C. S. Lewis conference is this weekend, and I'm attending with my dad. SO. EXCITED!
I didn't know what to say so I just started writing.
I'm not used to writing everyday. Or having what I write be published in the same breath. Or having others know about it.
I've been thinking about blogs. How I've never thought of blogs as valuable until this summer. Until I met chattingatthesky.com. Until it changed my life.
Blogs are like books whose chapters do not have to be read in any particular order. They can be added to after they're published. They're free and easily accessible. They're a way for an author to build a platform, and a way to get critiques quickly and easily. They allow thoughts to be shared without the hassle of publishing. They create communities and forums in the comments. They're available in every country. And the scariest bit: They go from thoughts to written to published in the same breath.
*Whew.*
Another blog I love is thetinytwig.com. She wrote an excellent e-book called The No Brainer Wardrobe. Facinating! Helped me figure out what's really goin on in my wardrobe and to know how to buy pieces that work with the rest of my wardrobe. *Key fun shopping trips with Anna!! :)
Maybe I'll go think up a cool blog idea now...
