"Pay attention to Lucy. I think Lucy's Lewis' favorite." - Joe Rigney
I want to grow up to be Lucy.

Lucy is brave.
"I think—I don't know—but I think I could be brave enough." (LWW, Ch. 10)
She's clever and insightful and thoughtful.
"In our world too, a Stable once had something inside it that was bigger than our whole world." (LB, Ch. 13)
She loves Aslan.
"No," said Aslan. "I am sad and lonely. Lay your hands on my mane so that I can feel you are there and let us walk like that." (LWW)
"Aslan, Aslan. Dear Aslan," sobbed Lucy. "At last!" For a time she was so happy she did not want to speak. (PC)
“It isn't Narnia, you know," sobbed Lucy. "It's you. We shan't meet you there. And how can we live, never meeting you?" (VDT)
Aslan is so gentle with her.
"But you shall meet me, dear one," said Aslan. "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.” (VDT)
"Oh dear, oh dear," said Lucy. "And I was so pleased at finding you again. And I thought you'd let me stay. And I thought you'd come roaring in and frighten all the enemies away - like last time. And now everything is going to be horrid."
"It is hard for you, little one," said Aslan. "But things never happen the same way twice. It has beeen hard for us all in Narnia before now."
Lucy buried her head in his mane to hide from his face. But there must have been magic in his mane. She could feel lion-strength going into her. Quite suddenly she sat up.
"I'm sorry, Aslan," she said. "I'm ready now."
"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed. But come. We have no time to lose."
"Aslan, Aslan, if ever you loved us at all, send us help now." ... "No one except Lucy knew that as [the albatross] circled the mast it had whispered to her, “Courage, dear heart,” and the voice, she felt sure, was Aslan’s, and with the voice a delicious smell breathed in her face." (VDT)
I love Lucy's innocence. I love her reaction to walking into Narnia - wonder, not fear. I love her ability to sense Aslan's moods. I love that she's so in tune with him. I love that she's afraid sometimes, but she draws her strength from Aslan. I love that she's willing to follow him once she's been made brave by him - whether her siblings follow or not. I love that she realizes that Aslan is what she loves about Narnia. And most of all, I love how much Aslan loves her. I want that closeness with God.
