It's my birthday!
I'm spending the day alternating between forgetting completely and telling everyone who will listen. :)
I'm excited to go to Olive Garden with friends tonight. I'm 21 on the 21st - it's my golden birthday. And I think that's a big deal!
I love how in the Old Testament God commands the Israelites to celebrate. I love how he created celebration and how he sees it as good.
Needed, even.
That's something I've been learning a lot about this summer. Needing rest and holidays.
I've been releasing my determination to be all-sufficient and depending on God. I've been releasing my guilt for not doing everything and doing some things with my whole heart. I've been releasing the desire to distract myself with noise and tuning my heart to the Holy Spirit's channel.
But most of all, I've been renewing my identity and walking in it.
I am the beloved.
So that's what I'm going to do. Be. Loved.
A huge amount of gratitude goes to Emily Freeman at chattingatthesky.com for opening my eyes to the deceitful glorification of busy and the things that are truly important in life: rest, family, friends, living out your passion, removing the mental clutter so you can hear the Holy Spirit - OR just sitting down in the clutter and chatting with him.
God is good. ALL THE TIME.
When is the last time you chatted at the sky?
