There are some people who just drive you crazy.
It isn't them, it isn't you, it's just you together.
You know what I mean?
You're too alike - or you have vastly different opinions. They seem uppity - or they're always down on themselves. They're into one thing; you're on a completely different page. They say things that are NOT funny that you have to pretend to laugh at. They're a social butterfly, you're a bookworm. They're in a different faze of life and just don't "get" you. They talk ALL THE TIME - or they barely say a thing.
Can I get an Amen, Sister?
I'm not talking about immediate family members. I'm not talking little things that annoy you about your best friend. I'm talking those people you run across in the grocery store or you see once a month in co-op or at family get-togethers - people who just make your stomach give a little lurch - like, okay, here we go. People you wish you could like but just somehow have never quite got on with. People you love but just don't really like.
I would like to challenge you to understand them in a way that doesn't require understanding.
Their gifts were not meant for you.
You know they have gifts, you know they're loved of God, you know they're beautiful and broken and valuable. You can release them from having gifts that were meant for you. You can release yourself from feeling that you ought to step up to receive their gifts. Some people's gifts were just not meant for me, and that's okay.
